Legal Intern

Are you a law graduate looking to start your career in an exciting, international tech company?

LS Retail is searching for a talented legal intern to join our Legal & Tax team for a fixed-term period of approximately 12-14 months, starting this summer through the end of summer 2027.

This role offers a hands-on experience navigating international legal and regulatory challenges, giving you real insight into what in-house legal work looks like, including the administrative side of running a legal function in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.

In this role, you will work within the Legal & Tax Team and report directly to the General Counsel.

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in getting the details right and is comfortable with foundational legal and administrative work, contributing directly to the smooth running of the legal function and freeing up the wider team to focus on more complex matters.

  • Assist with corporate recordkeeping, documentation, and filing with authorities for our international organization

  • Assist with corporate and tax matters, including drafting, filing, and maintaining corporate documents and annual reports with relevant authorities, as well as tax-related filings such as Transfer Pricing reports, where required

  • Communicate with and respond to inquiries from local and foreign authorities and regulatory agencies

  • Assist with analysing, drafting, and reviewing legal documents, agreements, and commercial contracts, including partner, customer, vendor, intra-group, and third-party agreements

  • Conduct legal research and prepare reports and summaries

  • Assist with managing the company’s business insurance coverages, including global policies

  • Assist with organizing and maintaining the company’s intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks and trade secrets

  • Provide ad-hoc legal support and advice to colleagues across multiple business units within our international organization

  • Master’s degree in law

  • High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and sound judgement

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to translate legal information for non-legal professionals

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet simultaneous deadlines under pressure

  • Self-driven and proactive, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to provide advice across different legal jurisdictions, including foreign legislation, as requested

  • Fluency in Icelandic and English (written and verbal), with strong interpersonal skills suited to a diverse, multicultural setting
