The LAVA Volcano and Earthquake Center in Hvolsvöllur is looking for an energetic employee to handle the gift shop and handle ticket sales for LAVA. The building houses the LAVA Volcano and Earthquake Exhibition, the most impressive gift shop in South Iceland, a café and a restaurant. The work is usually done in shifts 2-2-3, which means every other weekend.
Living in Hvolsvöllur or the surrounding area is a great advantage.
We are looking for enthusiastic people for a fun workplace. We are looking for people with good customer service and communication skills. You simply have to love working with people. Experience in retail and/or tourism is an advantage but not a requirement.
Job Description: The job involves welcoming visitors to the store and ensuring that they receive first-class service and advice. The job also involves selling tickets to the exhibition and generally welcoming visitors to the building. Employees also handle general information provision as well as occasional daily tasks such as replenishing the store, light cleaning and ensuring excellent accessibility for visitors both inside and outside the building.
