Material Science Scientist - Drug Product Development

We are looking for a motivated scientist to join the Drug Product Development team at Alvotech, in Material Science. In this position you will be a part of a team working on the development of liquid/lyophilized biologics (biosimilar) drug products.


Key Responsibilities:

• Perform activities related to the selection, implementation, optimization and characterization of drug product primary packaging components of the finished dosage form and materials that are used during drug administration. This includes, but is not limited to: transport validation studies, formulation compatibility studies, in-use stability studies, manufacturing process development studies for the finished dosage form and container closure system integrity/stability studies.
• Work closely with the Formulation Development team to investigate and ensure compatibility of the container closure system with the drug product formulations.
• Work closely with other packaging/device development and drug product manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of materials into medical devices/combination products and the drug product manufacturing process, respectively.

Qualifications:

• BSc/MSc in biotechnology, biochemistry, chemistry, chemical engineering, material science, pharmaceutical science, pharmacy or other related disciplines.
• Relevant experience in biopharmaceutical drug product development is desirable, but not a requirement.
• Hands-on experience in working with proteins in a biochemical (wet) laboratory.
• Proactive team player with strong communication, organization and presentation skills.
