Chef - Tindasel

We are now looking for a chef to take full ownership of the kitchen as we move into opening and early operational phase. This is on-site full time role, Tindasel is located about 1,5 hours from Reykjavik.

This is about more than cooking. The chef is responsible for delivering a premium dining experience, while maintaining full control over cost, structure, and consistency.

Working shifts 7 days on and 7 days off.

  • Execute daily dinner service

  • Maintain consistent plating, portioning, and timing standards

  • Deliver a premium but efficient menu (low complexity, high quality)

  • Daily prep, mise en place, and service flow optimization

  • Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards 

  • Ensure kitchen cleanliness and closing procedures are followed

  • Manage ordering and inventory

  • Minimize food waste and control costs

  • Coordinate tightly with Hosts (timing of dinner, guest flow)

  • Support upsell opportunities (wine pairings, add-ons)

  • Organized, reliable, and able to work independently

  • Passion for quality ingredients and clean presentation

  • Understands both cooking and cost control

  • Comfortable working in a remote lodge environment
