Training Manager

The Reykjavik EDITION is looking for its next Training Manager!

The Training Manager is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs that enhance employee performance, service excellence, and brand standards. This role ensures training initiatives align with business goals, improve guest satisfaction, and support operational success.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Key Responsibilities Training Program Development & Delivery

  • Design, coordinate, and facilitate training programs for management and non-management employees.

  • Ensure all employees receive onboarding, brand orientation, and ongoing service excellence training.

  • Apply adult learning principles and adapt delivery methods to diverse learning styles and operational needs.

  • Partner with operational leaders to identify skill gaps and implement targeted development solutions.

  • Utilize digital learning platforms for assignments, tracking, reporting, and performance monitoring.

  • Stay current on learning technologies and new program launches.

Performance Evaluation, Continuous Improvement & Development

  • Monitor training participation, enrollment, and completion rates.

  • Evaluate training effectiveness through performance metrics, guest satisfaction results, and operational data.

  • Measure transfer of learning and adjust programs to improve outcomes.

  • Provide feedback and coaching to employees and leaders to reinforce service and leadership behaviors.

  • Ensure compliance with company standards and standard operating procedures.

Service & Brand Excellence

  • Champion a culture of guest hospitality and service excellence.

  • Model and reinforce brand standards and core values.

  • Incorporate guest satisfaction metrics into training and departmental initiatives.

Budget & Resource Management

  • Assist in developing and managing the annual training budget.

  • Align training expenses with Human Resources and financial objectives.

  • Leverage corporate or regional learning resources to meet property-specific needs.

Educational and skill requirements

• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Human Resources, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 2 years of experience in the human resources or related professional area; certified trainer.

• 4-year bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; certified trainer.
