

Senior Procurement Specialist | Embla Medical
Embla Medical is seeking a highly motivated Senior Procurement Specialist, focused on New Product Introduction (NPI) to join our Global Procurement team.
This is a strategic role focused on supporting innovation and product development by acting as the key link between R&D, Engineering, and our global supplier network. You will engage early in the product development process to identify capable suppliers, source innovative technologies and materials, and ensure product designs are aligned with manufacturing, cost, quality, and supply chain objectives.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in bringing new products to market by integrating sourcing expertise into the product development lifecycle and building strong partnerships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Serve as the primary sourcing partner for R&D and Product Development teams throughout the product lifecycle.

Lead sourcing activities for new product development projects from concept and design through commercialization.

Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers capable of supporting new technologies, materials, and components.

Drive RFQ, supplier selection, and commercial negotiations for new products and projects.

Collaborate closely with Engineering and R&D to ensure product designs support manufacturability, scalability, and cost targets.

Promote early supplier involvement to improve innovation, reduce risk, and accelerate development timelines.

Support prototype builds, design verification, pilot production, and product transfer activities.

Assess supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure continuity and resilience.

Work cross-functionally with Quality, Operations, Regulatory Affairs, and Project Management teams to support successful product launches.

Drive continuous improvement and cost optimization through supplier collaboration and market intelligence.

Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, engineering, or related field.

Experience in sourcing, procurement, supplier development, engineering, or new product introduction environments.

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supplier capabilities.

Experience working with suppliers during the product development process.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Strong analytical, project management, and negotiation capabilities.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, global environment.

Fluent English communication skills.
Experience within medical devices, healthcare, manufacturing, or other regulated industries is an advantage. Knowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes as well as experience with ERP, sourcing and supplier management systems is also beneficial.
