
Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (AWS + Cloudflare)
This role must be based in Reykjavík, Iceland and reports to our CTO who is also based in Reykjavík. We work hybrid and collaborate across timezones with our international development team.
Too Lost is a music distribution company operating production systems that support music delivery, reporting, and financial workflows. The infrastructure environment runs primarily on AWS and Cloudflare, with high expectations for reliability, security, and cost-aware scaling.
The role is intended for an experienced infrastructure professional who can take ownership of cloud operations, strengthen security posture, and drive continuous improvements in performance, monitoring, and cost optimization.
What You’ll Do
- Own cloud infrastructure operations across AWS and Cloudflare
- Act as the internal owner of AWS processes, standards, and access control workflows
- Manage and improve IAM roles, policies, and permission design across environments
- Improve security posture through practical controls, auditing, and operational discipline
- Drive cost optimization across AWS services through analysis, tuning, and better defaults
- Maintain and improve monitoring, alerting, logging, and incident response processes
- Improve reliability and operational maturity across production systems
- Collaborate with developers to ensure cloud infrastructure supports safe and fast delivery
- Additional projects and responsibilities as assigned
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong professional experience managing AWS environments in production
- Strong understanding of IAM and access control best practices, including least-privilege design
- Experience improving cloud security posture in real-world systems
- Experience with Cloudflare in production (WAF, firewall rules, rate limiting, DNS, CDN)
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups)
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and make sound technical decisions
Additional Skills We'd Love:
- Experience using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
- Experience with observability tooling and log pipelines beyond basic defaults
- Experience hardening systems that handle sensitive data, financial workflows, or transactional services
- Experience setting up internal operational playbooks and incident response routines
- Experience working with distributed development teams
