The Embassy of Denmark in Iceland is seeking a highly responsible and skilled housekeeper for the Ambassador’s Residence.
As Housekeeper, you will be responsible for the general upkeep of the Residence, including cleaning, laundry and occasional meal preparation. The Housekeeper will also be responsible of cleaning the embassy offices.
The Housekeeper will furthermore have practical responsibility for the events, meetings, lunches, dinners and receptions regularly hosted at the Residence. This includes everything from setting the table to coordinating catering and additional serving staff, as well as preparing the venue.
We offer an interesting and varied position with a very high degree of responsibility and trust. We are looking for the right person with documented expertise in the field, a positive, aervice-minded and flexible attitude, and a strong interest in contributing to the team of one of the most historic houses in the heart of Reykjavik.
The working hours are 29 hours per week. The workplace is the Embassy of Denmark in Iceland, Hverfisgata 29, 101 Reykjavik. From time to time, the position will also require evening work in connection with events at the embassy.
- Responsible for and carrying out cleaning at the Ambassador’s Residence and at the embassy offices.
- Practical responsibility for events and meetings at the Residence
- Well documented experience in the field along with references confirming the canciadate as a highly trustworthy and service-minded team player with the ability to work independently.
- Well-developed sense of discretion and good judgment.
- Strong sense of responsibility, with the ability to mangage multiple tasks and work effectively under time pressure.
- Good language skills in Danish or another Scandinavian language are preferred.
- Driver’s license.
