Location: Gistihúsið - Lake hotel Egilsstaðir
Start Date: May–June 2026
Schedule: 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 rotation
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and reliable Pastry Chef to join our kitchen team starting in May–June. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen and is willing to take part in multiple areas of food preparation and ala carte service.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and produce a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods

Preparation of cold starters and other kitchen items

Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen

Dishwashing and general kitchen duties when needed

Follow food safety and hygiene standards - HACCP

Work efficiently during busy service periods
Work Schedule

12-hour shifts
-
2-2-3 rotation schedule
- With occationally shorter shifts.
Requirements

Experience in pastry or baking (professional kitchen experience preferred)

Ability to work long shifts and in a fast-paced environment

Team player with a positive attitude

Willingness to help with various kitchen tasks beyond pastry work

Good organizational and hygiene practices
