Lodge Cook / Chef

Deplar Farm is seeking a motivated and reliable Cook / Chef to join our culinary team and help deliver exceptional guest experiences throughout the season. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing breakfast and lunch service for guests, preparing staff meals, maintaining kitchen organization and cleanliness, receiving and storing deliveries, and assisting with inventory management.

Working closely with the Executive Chef, Sous Chefs, Lodge Managers, and Experience Managers, the Cook / Chef plays an important role in ensuring a seamless dining experience while upholding the high culinary standards of Deplar Farm.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, has a passion for hospitality, and is eager to learn and grow within a professional kitchen.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Guest Dining Operations

  • Prepare and execute daily breakfast service for guests.
  • Prepare and execute daily lunch service for guests.
  • Ensure food is prepared and presented according to established standards.
  • Follow menus, recipes, and instructions provided by the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs.
  • Monitor breakfast and lunch inventory levels and communicate shortages promptly.

Staff Dining & Kitchen Support

  • Prepare staff lunch when scheduled.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation.
  • Assist with receiving, checking, and storing deliveries.
  • Support inventory counts and stock organization when required.
  • Follow all HACCP, food safety, and hygiene standards.

Team Collaboration

  • Work effectively with the culinary team to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Communicate clearly with Lodge Managers and Experience Managers to support guest satisfaction.
  • Be flexible and willing to assist with special events, private dining experiences, and off-site catering activities.
  • Support team goals and contribute positively to the workplace culture.
Educational and skill requirements
  • Previous kitchen experience
  • Knife skills and food preparation techniques.
  • Understanding of food safety and HACCP principles.
  • Ability to follow recipes and standardized procedures.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
