Director of Business Control

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Business Control to lead our business control functions, including financial planning and performance management. This is a critical leadership position that partners with senior management across the airline to drive decision-making, improve financial outcomes, and ensure alignment with our long-term goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Business Control team and oversee financial planning and forecasting processes across the organization.
• Provide strategic financial insights to challenge & support operational and commercial decision-making.
• Drive the analysis of business performance, identifying risks and opportunities to improve profitability.
• Develop and implement robust control and efficiency improvement initiatives and play a leading role in the company’s transformation journey.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align business strategies with financial performance targets.
• Ensure accuracy and transparency of financial reporting, KPIs, and variance analyses.
• Lead financial governance, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
• Support major business cases, capital investments, and strategic projects with financial analysis and modeling.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis and performance management, ideally within transportation, or travel industry.
• Proven track record of managing teams and partnering with executive leadership.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with a commercial mindset.
• Deep understanding of cost structures and revenue models in the transportation sector.
• Proficiency in financial systems and tools (e.g., Cognos, Oracle, Power BI, or similar).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
