Database Administrator (DBA)

Rapyd Europe is looking for an experienced DBA to lead the design, security, and optimization of our core database architecture, guaranteeing peak performance and high availability. You will take full ownership of implementing and tuning systems like MSSQL Server, MySQL, Cassandra, and DB2, handling all aspects of backups, recovery, and security. You must have 5-8 years of professional DBA experience, deep expertise in SQL scripting, performance tuning, and quick resolution of complex database issues.

Designing, implementing, and optimizing database systems based on user requirements.
Ensuring database performance, security, and regular backups.
Managing database indexes, partitions, and user access.
Diagnosing and resolving database-related issues, providing technical support.
Collaborating with developers and IT teams on application issues and deployments.
Planning for database scalability, upgrades, and data migration.
Maintaining documentation and ensuring compliance with data protection standards.

Menntunar- og hæfniskröfur

Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in database administration.
Proficiency in database technologies such as MSSQL Server, MySQL, Cassandra, DB2and SQL scripting.
Experience in performance tuning, optimization, and high-availability database setups.
Knowledge of backup, recovery procedures, and data security best practices.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Experience with DevOps tools and practices for database management is a plus
Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g., AWS RDS, AWS Aurora, Azure, SQL Database) is a plus

Working Conditions

The role may require on-call availability for handling urgent database issues.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
