Temporary recruitment of an Ambassador’s Assistant 01/03/25- 30/06/26

The French Embassy in Iceland is recruiting an Ambassador’s Assistant for four months starting on 1 March 2026, on a full-time, fixed-term contract.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

Managing the Ambassador’s agenda and organising meetings

Supervising events at the Residence (in coordination with the Residence Manager and the relevant Embassy departments), liaising with service providers and monitoring the Ambassador's budget.

Planning and coordinating official visits of foreign delegations to Iceland

Organising the Ambassador’s travel in Iceland and, if necessary, to France or other countries.

- Strong knowledge of Icelandic and French political system
- Ability to communicate and work in French and Icelandic

sensitive matters
- Ability to organize and manage schedules, meetings, and travel
arrangements
- Analytical and summarizing skills, ability to process and disseminate
information
- Proactive, anticipating needs and responding to requests
- Proficiency in standard office software (word processing, spreadsheets,
calendar management, etc.)
- Availability and adaptability to diverse situations
