Wheel Excavator Operators

Ístak is looking for experienced wheel excavator operators to work in the Icelandic Highlands and on the Reykjanes Peninsula.

Ístak is seeking responsible and experienced wheel excavator operators who want to take part in a variety of construction projects. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading construction and civil engineering company and work on diverse and challenging projects.

The role involves earthworks and infrastructure construction, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and professional workmanship.

Helstu verkefni og ábyrgð

· Operate and control a wheel excavator

· Perform earthworks and site preparation.

· Carry out daily inspections and basic maintenance of the machine.

· Follow company safety procedures and work practices.

· Work closely with site supervisors and other team members.

· Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Menntunar- og hæfniskröfur

Proven experience operating a wheel excavator (required).
Experience operating other types of heavy construction equipment is an advantage.
Valid heavy equipment operator certification/licence (required).
Valid Category B driving licence (required); commercial/heavy vehicle licence is an advantage.
Experience in earthworks is an advantage.
Responsible, reliable, and able to work independently.
Experience using GPS machine control systems (required).
Excellent English language skills (required).
Knowledge of Icelandic is an advantage.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Strong commitment to safety and high-quality workmanship.
Previous experience in the construction industry is an advantage.
