Alvotech is seeking a highly skilled Senior Analytical R&D Scientist to join the Physicochemical Assays department within our Research & Development division. This role is ideal for an experienced analytical scientist with strong expertise in chromatographic, electrophoretic, and physicochemical methods for biologics.

The successful candidate will lead method development activities, support regulatory submissions, and contribute to analytical strategies across multiple product programs. The position requires independence, scientific rigor, and strong collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop charge- and size‑based fractionation methods for various Alvotech products.

• Perform fractionation studies and prepare technical reports to support regulatory filings.

• Develop, optimize, and validate analytical methods for chromatographic and related physicochemical techniques.

• Write development reports, validation protocols and reports, method SOPs, and regulatory documentation.

• Conduct sample analysis to support product development throughout the product lifecycle.

• Perform routine cleaning, verification, troubleshooting, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.

• Qualify and optimize critical reagents, including reference standards and controls.

• Identify, propose, and implement required updates to quality documentation.

• Provide technical training, guidance, and mentorship to team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

• Significant experience in analytical method development and validation within the biopharmaceutical industry.

• Strong technical knowledge of LC, CE, MS and related analytical instrumentation.

• Demonstrated ability to write high‑quality technical reports, validation documentation, and SOPs.

• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a strong quality‑focused mindset.

• Ability to work both independently and in cross‑functional teams.

• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

About the Department

The Analytical R&D Physicochemical Assays department plays a central role within Alvotech’s R&D organization. The team is responsible for developing and validating analytical methods, performing sample analysis to support research and development activities, defining analytical strategies for biologics, and contributing to regulatory submissions and other high‑impact documentation.

This senior role involves close collaboration with other R&D teams, including Process Development, Formulation, QC, and Regulatory Affairs.
