At Alvotech, our Drug Product Development team is dedicated to developing innovative biosimilar medicines that improve access to high-quality biologic treatments worldwide. We are a team of passionate scientists focused on developing drug product formulations, manufacturing processes and dosage form materials for biosimilar drug products.

We are currently looking for a Process Development Scientist to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for both experienced professionals and recent graduates who are eager to contribute to the development of cutting-edge biopharmaceutical products while advancing their scientific careers in a collaborative and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize robust manufacturing processes for liquid and lyophilized drug products.
  • Design, execute, analyze, and document process development studies, stability studies, and biophysical characterization experiments. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • freezing/thawing-, mixing-, filtration-, filling-, lyophilization processes and other drug product manufacturing related process steps.
  • Apply Quality by Design (QbD) principles to support the development of efficient and scalable manufacturing processes.
  • Support the selection and evaluation of process materials and suppliers.
  • Perform process characterization studies to ensure manufacturing robustness and readiness for process performance qualification.
  • Participate in technology transfer activities from development to manufacturing and provide technical support during process performance qualification.

Qualifications

We are seeking curious, motivated, and collaborative scientists who are passionate about biopharmaceutical development and eager to contribute innovative solutions in a dynamic team environment.

Required Qualifications

  • BSc or MSc degree in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience working with proteins or biologics.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • A proactive mindset and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in biopharmaceutical drug product development.
  • Knowledge of biologics manufacturing processes and pharmaceutical development principles.
