Senior Financial Analyst

Borealis Data Center is seeking a highly structured, detail-oriented, and analytical Senior Financial Analyst with strong expertise in Excel modelling to lead the budgeting process, financial analysis, and business case development.

The role requires advanced financial modelling skills, structured thinking, and the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, decision-useful insights for management. In addition to analytical responsibilities, the role includes coordinating and driving finance-related projects, ensuring timelines, documentation, and deliverables are managed in a structured and transparent manner.

The Senior Financial Analyst acts as a key financial partner to management and department leaders, working closely with the CFO and providing structured financial insight to support strategic decision-making. The role plays a central part in budget preparation, financial analysis, reporting, financial modeling, while providing support to the accounting team in the preparation of financial statements, along with other finance-related responsibilities as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Modelling & Analysis

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve financial planning and modelling tools, including advanced Excel models and potential implementation of dedicated financial planning systems.
  • Build and maintain integrated forecasting models with scenario and sensitivity analyses (e.g. on P&L, cash flow, balance sheet)
  • Support business cases, investment analysis, cost modelling, and capex analysis
  • Ensure models are accurate, well-structured, documented, and audit-ready

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead and coordinate the annual budgeting process while strengthening the structure and frequency of periodic forecasting
  • Define timelines, deliverables, and responsibilities across departments
  • Monitor performance against budget and provide variance analysis and actionable insights
  • Work closely with department managers to support financial planning and cost control

Accounting & Reporting Support

  • Provide support to the accounting team during the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Assist in closing processes and reconciliations as needed
  • Prepare well-organized and consistent management reports and financial presentations
  • Contribute to statutory reporting and audit support as required

Projects & Process Improvement

  • Structure and drive finance-related projects (e.g., budgeting cycles, model upgrades, reporting improvements, system enhancements)
  • Coordinate cross-functional input across departments to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables
  • Identify inefficiencies in financial workflows and proactively propose improvements
  • Deliver ad-hoc financial analysis and support broader finance activities

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field, with 3–7+ years of relevant experience
  • Extensive experience in advanced Excel modelling (complex formulas, pivot tables, Power Query, financial modelling best practices)
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Experience building structured, audit-ready financial models from scratch
  • Experience supporting financial statements; familiarity with ERP systems and BI tools is a plus
  • Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail and a structured approachAbility to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and professional backgrounds
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English
  • Clean Criminal Record
