CO₂ mineral storage monitoring expert
Carbfix is seeking an experienced and motivated scientist to join our Technology team. The role focuses on measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV) of CO₂ storage projects, contributing directly to Carbfix’ international growth and mission of climate recovery.
- Develop and manage monitoring plans, activities, and techniques.
- Analyze and interpret geochemical and other technical data, including its automation.
- Participate in reporting and verification of monitoring results.
- Contribute to water sampling and other field measurements.
- Master’s degree (MSc) in Geochemistry or similar field.
- Proven experience with chemical thermodynamics in aqueous systems using PHREEQC.
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis, automation, and interaction with databases/cloud storage.
- Hands-on experience in geochemical measurements in the field and laboratory.
- Strong organizational and project management skills; able to plan, prioritize, and manage complex tasks systematically.
- Fluency in English, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic, cross-disciplinary and diverse environment.
The position is located on site at Carbfix HQ in Reykjavík, Iceland.
