Aviation security at Keflavík airport

Öryggismiðstöðin is looking for people who have a passion for safety and well-being of others, are positive and can make decisions quickly and efficiently.

The employee will be working as a member of Aviör at Keflavík Airport.

Aviör employees play a critical role in keeping passengers and aircrafts moving safely and on time.

The job is in the field of Manned Solutions, which provides a wide range of security guard services, including on-call services, valuables transportation and general security for the Security Center's customers.

This is a job in a close-knit, reliable and ambitious workplace.

It is desirable that the person can start work soon and is ready for full-time or part time work.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Conduct passenger screening
Access control to airplane and security areas
Adhering to the company’s policies and legal regulations
Responsible for carrying out all guarding duties to a high standard, and in accordance with the companies’ procedures
Maintaining a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward passengers at all times
Operating various screening equipment and technology to identify dangerous objects in baggage, cargo and/or on passengers

Educational and skill requirements

Rich customer service and positivity
Excellent communication skills and team-work
Ability to work under pressure
General computer skills are an advantage
Assist customers in solving security-related projects
General responsibility for all equipment that the security guard has at his disposal at any given time
Good command of English (speaking and writing)
Knowledge of general first aid is an advantage
Independent and disciplined work style
Driver’s license
